I've moved in to my college dorm room. It's such a milestone in life for me to finally be on my own. Today is my second full day here, and I'm loving this except for the meal plan. My food is horrible here, but I'm also somewhat of a picky eater. I'm not big on salad, and I don't eat pork at all. Other than the food, we've had orientation for the entire freshman class, which seems like a lot of people, but in all reality it's not. My college is a private Baptist school, so there's probably only around 400-500 in my class.
The orientation has been alright. I don't like most of it, but it's nice to get to know some new people that I probably wouldn't have talked to otherwise. It's exciting to make some new friends in a new place. The best part is we're all on the same boat. We're all new to this college and we're all hoping to at least meet a few people to befriend for the years to come. I've enjoyed getting to room with my roommate. She's the sweetest girl in the entire world and I never thought I'd ever get along with another girl so well. We have a lot of the same sleeping and living habits, and we're both so easy going that we getting along perfectly. I think I can see this friendship lasting for a lifetime. She's probably my new best friend here at school.
Overall, I'm so ready for classes to start on Monday. Let's get this college experience going! I'm excited to learn and move forward to reach my goal of becoming a nurse. I may not enjoy every class, but I know that the class is what I need to reach my ultimate career goal. FUTURE here I come.
